These daily joint jellies are an easy & effective way to ensure your dog gets their daily supplements. I prefer to use these jellies for our senior dog, instead of sprinkling them separately on his food because he’s got a nifty way of sifting out the supplements and this way I know he’s getting his daily dose.

Gelatin – the superfood for joints
Plain, unsweetened, grass-fed gelatin offers big benefits for joint health (as well as dogs skin health, coat & digestion). No doubt you’ve heard the rage of all the benefits of bone broth – well gelatin provides all that goodnesss without all that cooking time.
Gelatin is a form of collagen and comes from connective tissues, bone marrow, tendons & skin. It’s bursting with amino acids and helps reduce inflamation and repair joint damage. While you can freestyle most of the ingredients as needed, gelatin is an essential ingredient of the daily jellies.
N.B The below recipe was created specifically for Graydon (our ancient forever foster) however you can add what’s needed to include your supplements of choice.
Graydon is extreeemely old (I’m not sure of his age exactly as we adopted him as a lost senior with no known background or information) but we think about 18. When we first got him his back legs didnt work and he needed to be carried up and down the stairs. Thankfully now, he’s full of beans and zooms around the farm doing all those delightful things like rolling in horse poo 🤣🤦♀️ I have no doubt that his daily joint supplementation is the cause of his massive improvement – because if I miss a few days he deteriorates noticeably.
Daily Joint Jellies for Dogs – Ingredients:
All ingredients are available in our Joint Health Combo pack (kelp can be added separately). Even better these products are all Australian grown.
I use a standard ice cube tray (for Graydon’s 10kg dosage) but for larger dogs it would probably be a tad easier with silicone moulds or muffin trays.
- Plain, unflavoured gelatin
- MSM Powder
- Organic Rosehips (when available)
- Grass-Fed or Seafood treatos into small chunks.
- Kelp
*All quantities are dependent on your dog’s size and daily dose.
Method:
- Add daily dose requirements of MSM powder, gelatin and kelp to individual moulds. For Graydon (10kgs) this is 1/4 teaspoon of MSM, 3/4 teaspoon of gelatin & a small sprinkle of kelp.
2. Top up moulds to 3/4 with hot water or stock. IMPORTANT: The water must be hot to cause the gelatin to go like jelly.
3. Give it a quick stir to combine.
4. Add rosehips & small chunks of treatos. I use a variety of Seafood Treats because they’re high in Omega 3s, glucosamine & chrondoitin but you cans substitute with jerky or any other yummies you have available. It doesn’t matter if bits stick out (it makes it easier to remove from the moulds later).
5. Pop in the fridge for a few hours until set.
I just plop one straight in Graydon’s bowl at dinner and he scoffs the lot.. but you could also feed them as a treat 😀
