Feeding Guide:
For Raw Feeding: If using this method for feeding the 10% offal, remember that the dehydrated liver, kidney, etc becomes more concentrated due to the moisture being removed. So, best to feed it at 1/3 of the raw weight. For example, if the daily liver requirement calls for 90 grams of liver, then the required amount of dehydrated liver would be 30 grams.
Basic Weight Guide:
If you’re without a set of scales – here’s an easy reference guide.
Postage Stamp – 5 grams
Palm Size – 30 grams
Ie a 10 kg dog should be fed no more than 2 x postage stamp sized sections of dehydrated liver per day.
A 20kg dog should be fed no more than a palm sized section of dehydrated liver per day.
Benefits of Liver in a Dog’s Diet
Liver contains a large amount of vitamin A, several B vitamins, iron, trace minerals, and CoQ10. It’s also a good source of protein.
Grass fed is best (see our Kangaroo Liver) because it has a superior nutrient profile.
Benefits of Dehydrated Treats in a Dog’s Diet
Dehydrated raw dog treats offer numerous benefits over raw, uncooked treats, as well as conventional dog treats.
- Dehydration is a low-temperature process ensuring the nutrients are well preserved.
- Dehydrated treats are also safe to give to your dog. Our dehydrated treats are are processed to ensure the elimination of potential pathogens like salmonella.
- Dehydrated dog treats are easy to handle because they dont smell (as much as fresh liver anyway 🤣) and is not messy to prepare.
- Raw dehydrated dog treats don’t need to be stored in a refrigerator or freezer. They can simply be kept in a dry place like a kitchen pantry.
- Typical shelf life is six to 12 months.
